About Us

Ashland was founded in the spirit of one of the most effective politicians in our history - Henry Clay - known as the “Great Compromiser”. In his eulogy of Clay, Abraham Lincoln applauded him as a master of finding solutions to the most difficult policy challenges. Clay was willing to work with anyone to achieve what he knew was best for the country. At Ashland, we approach the world like Clay did, knowing that the most difficult problems we face can only be solved with a deep understanding of what's politically possible.
